In memoriam Gustav Leonhardt (1928-2012)

Gustav Leonhardt plays our ‘Neuchâtel Ruckers’ during a lecture/concert held in the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, summer of 2009. He kindly gave us permission to publish this photo.
On the 24th of january 2012 we attended the service held in the Westerkerk, Amsterdam, to commemorate the death of Gustav Leonhardt. He does not need an introduction here; anybody interested in the harpsichord whether a professional or an amateur has come across the legacy of this unequalled musician and scholar. A pioneer in the historically inspired performance on the harpsichord, he remained the Great Master on this instrument until the very end. It has been a great honour for us to provide the instruments for many of his concerts, including his last recital in Het Concertgebouw, Amsterdam, on the 28th of November 2011.
He will live forth in the memory of the very many people who were deeply influenced by his work and personality. Our company would not have existed had it not been for the interest in the harpsichord he aroused in our minds and hearts. We are forever in his debt.
